Blessing 2

Well, it's not as if I have not been blessed since the first blog post, but just needing to get in a routine of sharing those blessings.   Here it is in black and white:  I PROMISE to do a better job! Again, this is more for my benefit.  Focusing on my blessings can improve the most "yucky" mindset and make day a little sweeter.
Blessing 2
I just bought my youngest child, Caroline age 9 1/2, a pair of shoes.  But, not just any shoes ... shoes that are MY size.  Can anyone explain this to me?  Didn't I just give birth to her a couple of months ago?  As most mother's can relate to, our babies are growing up and that comes with all sorts of sub text:  Stop growing, because I like you this size
I too must be getting older ... let me see if those lip lines are deeper
I just got the challenges if THIS age down pat.
And life's ever present, fear of the unknown
But, here's God's blessing revealed to me this week.  God gave me a beautiful healthy baby girl to take care of, even if she does have skis for feet.  I've never had the challenge of a really sick child or even a hospital visit with a child.  You mom's who have experienced this anguish truly know the blessings of a healthy child.  So many parents struggle with incredible trials concerning their child's health issues and I lift up a prayer for them and their kids today.
So I thank God for my healthy children and pray I remember this blessing mostly when they are driving me crazy.  And God forgive me for all the days I take this blessing for granted.

Here Goes! - Blessing 1

Here goes - my first blog entry!

It's not that I have something unique and extraordinary to share with the world. However, I'm at a place in my life where I think I need to be reminded of all God's countless blessings in my life. Too often, we get bogged down in the "to do" lists and troubles of the day, or worse, yesterday. And we certainly can't get too caught up in tomorrow.

As Matthew 6:34 states - "do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

My hope is to share God's blessings that I see in the world and/or my own life. These blessings will probably not be new revelations, but ones that you and I can benefit from being reminded of. So, this blog may only serve to refresh my spirit. But, I'm also hoping that others might be uplifted and encouraged through observing more of God's blessings in their own lives. After all, if we are all focused daily on God's blessings, how can our day be that bad!

Blessing 1
I'm at the beach and as I look at a blue heron in the water, I'm struck by the blessing of nature. How beautiful it is and how God sustains it. As Luke 12:24-26 speaks to us about how much more God values us than birds and yet He provides for them. How much more does God want to sustain me? So, if I know God provides for nature, how can I doubt His provision for me. It may not be what I want, but what He knows I need.
So there it is, let's worry a little less and praise God a little more for all His love & provisions.
